Absence makes the heart grow fonder
Dan left for Qatar on May 4. This is the 12th day we’ve been apart. We are both glad that he is scheduled to arrive home on Saturday. (4 more days!) It is interesting how the timing worked out for this trip. It has made us remember his deployment last year, when we were engaged, and how we both greatly anticipating getting married. We both agree that it is even more challenging to be separated as a married couple, now that we are used to living together and seeing each other daily.
I am very proud of Dan. For his willingness to serve in the Air Force, and for all the hard work he has accomplished in the time he has served. We have both learned a lot from this time as a military couple. And while I really do not enjoy being separated, I guess part of me is grateful, because it will be so sweet when he comes home!
